Position at Work as a Scene of Daily Life

Abstract

The article, which has been produced in the genre of ethnographic analysis, is devoted to the processes of social structuration on the level of inter-personal interaction, individual strategies and daily practices. The study relies on dramaturgic approach. The article is a reduced and reworked piece of the author’s book ‘Byt i bytie molodyozhi rossiiskogo megapolisa: sotsialnaya strukturatsiya povsednevnosti obschestva potrebleniya’ (Subsistence and existence of youth in Russian megapolises: social structuration of daily practices of consumer society). It analyzes the process of reproduction of social structures in the practices of inter-personal communication and individual life strategies of people work: in the office, factory and construction sites.
