The "Universe of Russia" (Mir Rossii) is an academic journal founded in 1992 and currently published by the National Research University Higher School of Economics (NRU HSE). It is one of Russia’s leading peer-reviewed academic journals, publishing theoretical and empirical research on a wide range of social, economic and political issues. The journal particularly fosters a discussion of these issues in a cross-regional comparative context, exploring the dynamics of Russia and neighboring regions (Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States).

The mission of the journal is to encourage interdisciplinary studies, high-quality academic dialogue, and the diffusion of research on Russia.

Most issues are comprised of thematic sections to cover different aspects of Russia’s development (e.g. international relations, society and politics, business and policy, etc).

Starting from 2014, the journal will be published on a bilingual basis. Papers submitted for review can be written either in Russian or in English.

The target audience is academic, including faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, policy analysts, entrepreneurs and other professionals who are interested in Russian affairs.

The "Universe of Russia" (Mir Rossii) is published quarterly.
